Rocky Mountaineer offers a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the unparalleled beauty of the Canadian Rockies. For their first foray into the publishing world, the team at Rocky Mountaineer collaborated with Jooska’s award-winning copywriting team on a special project. They set out to create a cookbook featuring onboard recipes that would serve double duty as a cherished keepsake and powerful marketing tool.
Rocky Mountaineer’s once-in-a-lifetime journeys revolve around providing exceptional onboard service and experiences for guests. With a global customer base seeking luxury travel experiences, Eat, Play, Love was designed to elevate the customer journey. While the recipes crafted by Michelin Star chefs are the focus, personalization, care, and attention to detail are undercurrents that elevate the content, turning the book into a beautiful momento and soft-sell marketing.
The copywriting team at Jooska had already completed two sales brochures for Rocky Mountaineer, nearly sixty pages each. For this project, we stoked our inner travel writer and got to work. Craggy mountains and crystalline streams became the backdrop for the organic, locally harvested ingredients that culminated in culinary masterpieces that ranged from a caviar-infused breakfast benedict to snazzy shortcakes and sweet puddings. Regional write-ups, chef bios, and tongue-tingling descriptions rounded out the cookbook. To our delight, Eat Play Love earned Canadian bestseller status within two months of publication and had three print runs. The Gourmand International of Paris also named it 2014 Cookbook of the Year in the Culinary Travel category.
