When UBC came to us in 2011, the University had just launched the most significant fundraising campaign in Canadian history. Start an Evolution aimed to raise $1.5 billion for student learning, research excellence, and community engagement and build alum engagement over five years.

CONTENT TO PROPEL EDUCATION FORWARD.

Our Vancouver copywriters at Jooska collaborated with UBC to share stories about philanthropic donations and alum research. We understand everyone has different touchpoints. To attract the gifts that would allow the university to thrive, we interviewed and crafted meaningful, personal stories from donors and students about the causes that motivated them and how involvement with UBC created life-changing opportunities that impacted generations.

WRITTEN INTO HISTORY.

From the outset, our mission as Vancouver copywriters was to propel UBC to its next stage of growth. By communicating value through memorable stories, taglines, and donor updates, we were able to tap into community altruism and integrate content as part of an omnichannel fundraiser to reinforce values and increase donations both online and off. The campaign was a resounding success, meeting fundraising goals before it even ended. Our Vancouver copywriters went on to assist UBC with publishing two significant fundraising letters, Scholarly Pursuits and Estate Planning Review, for many years.

The result.

The campaign, which launched publicly in September 2011 and closed on September 30, 2015, exceeded both of its targets by engaging 130,000 alumni and raising $1.624 billion to enhance student learning. We were proud to play a role in one of the most ambitious fundraising campaigns in Canadian history.
